His friend Jello (with Dorothy McGuire and Fess Parker). Jello would be pronounced 'yellow' auf Deutsch, of course...guess they didn't care for the colloquialness of the original, or perhaps that's just what they got out of it. Anyway, how sad can it be if the dog's name is Jello?
